Burritt On The Mountain Blacksmithing Classes
Burritt On The Mountain offers a couple different Blacksmithing classes. The two I know of are making a letter opener and a candle holder.
Forge Your Own Letter Opener at Burritt on the Mountain’s Blacksmithing Workshop

The class is led by Al Stephens, a professional blacksmith since 1992 and a member of the Athens Forge chapter of the Alabama Forge Council. Al brings a wealth of experience, having taught at both Burritt on the Mountain and Athens State University.
The workshop aims to teach several basic forging fundamentals. Using a forge, anvil, and basic hand tools, students will learn essential techniques like tapering, spreading, scrolling, bending, and riveting. The tuition for the workshop is $110, with an additional supply fee of $25.
Safety is a priority; students are advised to wear work clothes and closed-toe shoes. Safety glasses and all other materials will be provided.
