Smithlist was started by myself and Lando Novak, and opened on January 24th 2021. The idea of it was all Landon, you can see the original post here:

I saw that post and thought it was an awesome idea, I ran with it and had the site up after a couple of days, since than it has been growing fast.
The directory is free for all to use, I will never put ads or anything like that on it. I hope you enjoy it, and that it might help out the blacksmithing and bladesmithing community.
Update 2023-08-28
Shortly after setting up Smithlist life heaped a whole bunch of stuff on my plate, and all I had time to do was maintain what was already here. I finally have time to expand Smithlist and start to get the word out about it.
Ultimately I would like to see Smithlist become the go to place for everything to do with smithing including schools, classes, suppliers, and Farriers. Not only a hub of information but a community, and thriving marketplace.
